Welcome and Background

CAMHS mapping was developed for the Department of Health to contribute to the monitoring of the expansion and development of mental health service provision for children and adolescents. It was set up in 2002 and has become an annual exercise for the collection of data on specialist CAMH Tier 2 to 4 services (Health Advisory Service, 1995).

The CAMHS mapping aims to:

2006 Mapping

CAMHS and Child Health and Maternity Service Mapping are merging this year. Although CAMHS Mapping will retain a distinct identity, data input will be accessed through a new Child Health, CAMHS and Maternity Service website: www.childhealthmapping.org.uk

To register for the 2006 exercise, please visit the joint CAMHS / Child Health registration page

You can download 2006 caseload sheets below:

The data collection period will be 1st November 2006 to 28th February 2007.

As in previous years, team caseload data will be required for the period 1-30th November 2006 for tier 2 and 3 teams and 1st June to 30th November 2006 for tier 4 team/units. Blank recording sheets for keeping a record of caseload information are now available here. The website will go live for data input on 1st November 2006.

Support in completing the mapping will be provided throughout the data collection period by the Durham Helpdesk. It will be open from 1st November 2006 when the exercise goes live and operate between 9.30 to 4.30 weekdays with a finish at 1.00pm on Wednesdays. The Helpdesk can be contacted by phone or email and outside opening hours, voice mail will operate.

On the Helpdesk, requests for help will be logged and tracked by a dedicated researcher. It is hoped that the Helpdesk staff will be able to answer most questions immediately to the satisfaction of callers, but if the answer is not known, or further consultation is necessary, staff will undertake to get back to callers as soon as possible. All enquiries will be responded to by the end of the next working day.
